STEP-BY-STEP HOW TO VOTE

1.

Check Your Voter Registration

Check if you are registered to vote at https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/elections/voter-information/voter-registration-information or at https://www.vote.org/.

Contact the Elections Division by visiting Room 026 at the State Capitol or by calling 501-682-5070 or toll free at 1-800-482-1127 or by e-mail at electionsemail@sos.arkansas.gov.

2.

Complete an Emergency Absentee Ballot Application

To be qualified to vote an absentee ballot, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • I will be unable to attend the polls on Election Day because of illness or physical disability

  • I reside in a long-term care or residential facility licensed by the state


On your application you may designate how you wish to receive your ballot: by picking it up in person, by mail, or bearer.

If you're unable to access a printer, contact your Patient Voting team at patientvoting@gmail.com and we will help deliver materials to you

3.

Return Your Application

RETURN THIS APPLICATION TO YOUR COUNTY CLERK. You may obtain your County Clerk’s return address for your Absentee Ballot Application at the following link: https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/uploads/elections/countyclerksforwebsite.pdf

4.

Obtain Your Ballot

Based on your application, obtain your ballot by mail, designated bearer/administrator/authorized agent. 

 

Note: A designated bearer may obtain or deliver absentee ballots for no more than two (2) voters per election and may only do so within the 15 days before a general election.

 

A bearer, administrator, or agent must provide a current and valid photo ID to the clerk and must sign the register, under oath, when picking up or delivering an absentee ballot

Vote!

Fill out your ballot! 

6.

Return Your Completed Ballot

Return your completed ballot via mail, designated bearer, or authorized agent to your County Clerk’s return address for your Absentee Ballot Application at the following link: https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/uploads/elections/countyclerksforwebsite.pdf

  • By Designated Bearer: by 7:30 p.m. ON election day

  • By Mail: received at clerks office by 7:30 p.m. ON election day

    You may NOT fax or email a ballot. UOCAVA voters must vote their ballot by Election Day, and it must be received by their county clerk by 5:00p.m. 10 days after the election.

  • By Authorized Agent: by 7:30 p.m. ON election day

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is 10 days before the election. Voters may request absentee ballots be delivered by electronic transmission up until 5 p.m. on Election Day.
